If you have started Remus Information Management the first screen should look like the following (click on the images to enlarge)
The first logical step is to create a new project describing what you want to store, e.g. “Work” or “Private” or “Project X”.
Then create some categories to group information units within a project.
Afterwards you can create your first information unit. The simplest information type is plaintext, so for demo purposes we use simple text
The information unit appears in your structure and an editor will open. This editor has 2 subtabs. The first tab is for viewing the information unit, the second for editing.
If you switch on the edit tab you can enter some text. The editor becomes “dirty” (see asterisk on the top). For saving the information unit use File->Save or the shortcut Ctrl+S.
Now you can switch back to view tab and you’ll see your entered text.
The entered text is now searchable. For searching use the search-text on the top-toolbar or activate the search view on the right.
Every search will open a new view in the middle with the results. You can now open the information units by clicking on the links.
